Innovabiomed: the new event at Veronafiere dedicated to the medical device sector

Veronafiere promotes the Italian biomedical industry with the launch of the first edition of Innovabiomed – The networking venue for the bio-medical industry, the home to meetings and comparisons for experts in the production of medical devices.

Veronafiere continues to expand and diversify its portfolio of events, thanks to its new start-up – Innovabiomed, Italy’s new landmark bio-medical event scheduled 23-24 January 2018 in Verona. The event is being organized, in collaboration with Veronafiere, by the Mirandola district – known as the “Italian Biomedical Silicon Valley” – and RPM Media Srl Group.

Medical devices – a domestic market worth 10 billion euros – are characterized by high technology and rapid innovation in a field where Italy plays a leading international role. Italy boasts 4,480 companies in the biomedical sector, with 70,000 employees. 69% of companies and 83% of sales are concentrated in five regions: Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Veneto and Tuscany (source: Assobiomedica 2016 Report).

Specialists in the biomedical sector attending the Veronafiere event will have the chance to meet companies that have developed solutions to improve productivity and competitiveness for manufacturers of medical devices and equipment in many speciality fields, including cardiovascular medicine, orthopaedics, surgery, anaesthesiology, medical imaging, pulmonary medicine, oncology and in vitro diagnostics.

The event will be a venue for meetings and discussion to stimulate analysis of new developments and applications of the latest studies. It will also encourage contacts between the research and production worlds through conferences, technical seminars and thematic workshops.

The event was presented on 12 July in Verona by the President and the CEO of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese and Giovanni Mantovani. The launch was attended by the Mayor of Verona, Federico Sboarina, and the Councillor for Health of the Veneto Region, Luca Coletto.
