Veronafiere in the front-line of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign
Veronafiere is also supporting the vaccination campaign in the fight against Covid-19. So much so, that one of the four vaccine administration centres planned for the province of Verona by the ULSS 9 Scaligera Health Authority has been set-up c/o the Verona Exhibition Centre.
Veronafiere has made facilities available in Hall 10, equipped for the occasion with a reception area, 10 vaccination stations, 100 well-distanced seats in the waiting area and refrigerators for storing vials with the vaccine serum.
Forty health workers will be involved, including doctors and nurses, in addition to supervision services provided by the Army and Civil Protection Corps.
At full capacity, up to 1,400 people can be safely vaccinated every day. It was the turn of citizens over 80 years old today, starting with people born in 1941.
“We want to continue our close bonds with our city and its local area,” said Maurizio Danese, President of Veronafiere, “while also effectively supporting this new pandemic management stage. It is a fundamental new move in the battle against the virus and one more step towards normality, when our show halls will once again host people and events in complete safety.”
The vaccination centre joins the quick drive-in swab point already set up at Veronafiere in 2020: to date, more than 72,000 Covid-19 tests have been carried out at the Verona Exhibition Centre.
