China: Veronafiere’s permanent headquarters inaugurated in Shanghai
Verona, 7rd November 2018 – Veronafiere, after twenty years of operations in China, has inaugurated its permanent headquarters in Shanghai’s central business district of Xuhui.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the offices that will represent Veronafiere’s key sectors (wine, food, natural stone and agricultural technology) was attended, in addition to Maurizio Danese and Giovanni Mantovani (respectively President and CEO of Veronafiere), by the Italian Ambassador to China, Ettore Sequi, and the Italian Consul General in Shanghai, Michele Cecchi.
“Italy and Veronafiere share three major concepts with present-day China: quality, innovation and beauty. Furthermore, the opening of this permanent site – in the same building that is home to other Italian realities including the Consulate and the ICE Trade Agency – will enable the Italian system to present itself in a united, authoritative and credible manner,” said the Italian Ambassador to China, Ettore Sequi.
Maurizio Danese commented: “This opening coincides with the 120th anniversary of the foundation of Veronafiere – the leader in Italy as regards direct organisation of events. We want the offices we are inaugurating today to become yet another internationalisation tool available not only to Veronafiere but also to Italian entrepreneurs and institutions in general.”
“China today,” said the CEO of Veronafiere, Giovanni Mantovani, “is a market worth 1,600 billion euros – a figure destined to grow even further. Over these 20 years, relationships with China have expanded considerably and we have stabilised our activities, especially in the wine sector. But now we want to expand our offering.”
